Articulation & Language

Articulation Therapy

Articulation therapy addresses the production of phonemes or sounds.  A formal assessment is conducted to determine what sounds are produced incorrectly and if sound production is age appropriate.

Therapy programs are individualized to meet the needs of each client. Clients' goals are continuously adjusted and reevaluated to ensure optimal growth and progress. Parents and family members are highly encouraged to participate in therapy, as parental/family involvement is critical to a client's progress and transfer of skills.

Language Therapy

Language Therapy addresses receptive and/or expressive language.

  • Receptive language is how we understand and comprehend language.

    •  Does your child have difficulty understanding what is spoken to him,  read to him, or following directions?

  • Expressive language is how we formulate language, make sentences, share ideas and tell stories

    • Does your child have difficulty recalling words, using correct grammar?  Does your child have difficulty telling a story or talking about his day?

It is important to conduct a formal assessment to determine a child's strengths and weaknesses. Therapy programs are individualized to meet the needs of each client. Clients' goals are continuously adjusted and reevaluated to ensure optimal growth and progress. Parents and family members are highly encouraged to participate in therapy, as parental/family involvement is critical to a client's progress and transfer of skills.
